DIRECTORATE OF EXTENSION EDUCATION
Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University started functioning on 21st April, 2006 at Ludhiana, as per Punjab Act No. 16 of 2005 to serve the society by promoting the livestock production, health and prevention of the diseases through integrated teaching, research and extension programmes. The University has various divisions to fulfill its goals. Directorate of Extension Education is one such division to transfer new technologies developed by the University to livestock farmers.
University Extension Mandate
- To uplift the livestock sector as a whole and livestock farmer as individuals with latest scietific practices.
- Educating the unemployed youth, farmers and women about profitable livestock farming viz. dairy, poultry, piggery, fisheries, etc.
- Refining of indigenous practices through on farm trails and demonstration of latest recommendations/research.
- Making massess aware of the latest and recommended scientific practices by publishing various literature like magazine, books, pamphlets in the local language.
