Brief Introduction
Dr. Balbir Singh Khadda, presently serving as Deputy Director (Training) at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali). He obtained his B. Sc. Ag. (Hons) from SKRAU, Bikaner, M.Sc. (Animal Husbandry) from MPUA&T, Udaipur and Ph.D. (Livestock Production Management) from GBPUA&T, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand. He has been exclusively working on different aspect of animal Husbandry for the last 22 years. Besides, standardized production technologies for enhancing the productivity of Cattle, Buffalo, Goat and Poultry and popularizing them among the livestock keepers of the region through training, on farm trails, demonstrations, field day, advisory service, diagnostic visit, kisan mela, exhibition, radio talk and mass media, etc,. He worked in 17 externally funded research projects. The remarkable and notable contributions in the form of publication are 84 research articles in National and International Journal of repute, 69 papers presented in seminar/ symposia, 31 popular articles, 12 bulletins, 12 extension folders, 9 book chapters, 5 training manuals 4 books and 2 compendiums. He has been received best oral and poster presentation awards (9 times) for presenting research papers during Seminar/ Conferences/ Symposia. He has been recipients of many awards, recognitions and fellowship including work appreciation award - 2018 given by Gujarat State Administration, Best Ph.D. Thesis award, AIASA-Fellowship award,Young Scientist Award-2014 and 2016, Distinguished Scientist Award-2016, Scientist of the year Award-2017, Krishi Vigyan Goarav Award-2017, Best KVK Scientist Award-2020, Harit Puraskar-2020, Outstanding achievement award-2022, etc. He is sitting member to many professional societies and editor of NAAS rated journals. He has been organized 3 National seminars and 4 International seminars (acted as organizing secretary convener/ member). He has been chaired many sessions in national/ International conferences. He has also delivered 22 Radio-talks on important/ burning topics of the agriculture and animal husbandry at All India Radio.
