a. University Scholarship: This scholarship, valued at Rs. 1000/- per month, is awarded to meritorious students of undergraduate programmes on the basis of score/rank/marks obtained in the qualifying test/ examination merit list for admission. The number of scholarships is determined college wise by the academic council from time to time. Rs.1000/- per month

 

b.

Dr. G. S. Khush Scholarships: Two Scholarships each for the students of B.V.Sc. & A.H. and B.Tech. (Dairy Tech.); and one scholarship for students of B.F.Sc. will be awarded by Dr. G. S. Khush Foundation for Agriculture Sciences @ Rs.1200/- per month. The scholarship will be awarded to the students from rural background only, on the basis of merit of NEET (UG)/JEE (Mains)/10+2 examination (as applicable) in first professional year and on the basis of OGPA/OCPA of the previous year for subsequent years. Rs.1200/- per month
c. Sports Scholarship: The University awards the sports scholarship @ Rs. 1000/- per month on fulfillment of prescribed conditions. The number of scholarships are four for major games (viz., Hockey, Football, Athletics and Cricket) and four for the minor games. Rs. 1000/- per month
d. PM Young Achievers Scholarship Award Scheme: A new scheme namely PM Young Achievers Scholarship Award Scheme has been formulated for OBC, EBC and DNT students as per letter no. BC-12013/10/2020-BC-I issued by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, GOI received through Director, Animal Husbandry, Pb vide his memo No. 5737-38 dated 22.05.2023.

Awards

a.

Mata Ind Kaur Award: A cash award up to a maximum of Rs. 10,000/- per annum will be awarded to three meritorius B.F.Sc. students who have achieved maximum OCPA but not less than 7.00 out of 10.00 at the end of 1st, 2nd and 3rd year of the degree programme and who are not in receipt of any other fellowship.

Dr. Balwant Singh Memorial Award: The award will be awarded to three students of B.V.Sc &A.H. degree programme who have secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions on the basis of marks obtained in the course of Veterinary Pathology offered during second professional year of B.V.Sc &A.H. degree programme and will enroll in third professional year.

Amar-Gian Award: A case award upto a maximum of Rs. 12,500/- per annum with a certificate will be awarded to one male and one female student having Highest OCPA/OGPA in B.V.Sc. & A. H on completion of degree, and one male and one female Best Athelete (total four awards) from amongst the students of constituent colleges of the university.

d.

Dr D. S. Barri Memorial Award:1. Male Student “Best Actor” in the theatrical events
(Rs.11000/-) with certificate.
2. Female Student “Best Actress” in the theatrical events
(Rs. 11000/-) with certificate.
3. Best Female Athlete (Rs 5100/-) with certificate.

Annually

Note for all Scholarships/Fellowships: 1. Each student can avail only one fellowship/scholarship irrespective of his/her eligibility. The eligibility for the fellowship/scholarship will be determined considering the detailed guidelines for institution of the specific fellowship/ scholarship.

2. University scholarship, fellowship and stipends will be awarded to the students of domicile of Punjab & UT Chandigarh and/or having qualifying degree from GADVASU.

Merit Certificates

1.

Merit Certificates are awarded to the students who achieve an OCPA/OGPA of 8.00 or more out of 10.00 at the end of their Bachelor’s Degree Programme.

Gold Medals and Medals

The Gold Medals are conferred at the time of Convocation/Annual Function as under:

1.

University Gold Medals: The college level Gold Medal is awarded to a student securing highest OCPA/OGPA (but not less than 8.00 out of 10.00) in the class in the programmes of constitutent colleges.

(ii) B.V.Sc. & A.H.Rampura Phul
(iii) B.F.Sc.
(iv)  B. Tech. (Dairy Technology)
(v)  B. Tech. (Biotechnology)

(b)

 

Other Gold Medals

(i)

Dr. Balwant Singh Gold Medal: The Medal is awarded to an all-round best graduate student among all the constituent colleges of the University.

(ii)

Dr. Kulbir Singh Sandhu Meritorious Medal: The Medal will be awarded to an Overall Outstanding Fisheries Graduate (B.F.Sc.) in the college of Fisheries, GADVASU, Ludhiana.

(iii)

Dr. Narinder Singh Sharma Gold Medal: The Medal is awarded to an all-round Best Graduate of B.V.Sc. & A.H. programme at College of Veterinary Science, Rampura Phul.
