Eligibility Criteria for NRI/OCI Category

• Only the NRIs/OCI or their children/ wards (as per the judgment of Honourable Supreme Court for Appeal (Civil) 5041 of 2005) are eligible to apply.
• The NRI/OCI candidates seeking admission to undergraduate programmes are not required to appear in NEET (UG) ‐ 2024 or any other entrance test.
• Candidates must have passed 10+2 standard level examination with a minimum of 50% marks in individual subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
• The eligibility of qualification will be subject to verification of equivalence with the 10+2 examination of any recognized Education Board of India.
• The candidates must furnish the details of subjects studied, grades and percentage equivalent marks in the relevant columns of NRI/OCI Application Form.
• The syllabus of the courses studied at 10+1 and 10+2 level, contact details and the website address of the institute attended needs to be attached with the application.
• Mere submitting of the application does not guarantee admission to the programme.
• Priority will be given to the candidates of Punjab and Union Territory of Chandigarh origin.

Eligibility Criteria for International/Foreign Students

• The International/Foreign students may be considered for admission (in absentia) in Bachelor, degree programme without appearing in the Entrance Test against additional seats. These seats will be in addition to NRI/OCI category seats.
• Their admission may be regulated by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)/ Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR), Veterinary Council of India (VCI)/ Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India, New Delhi.
• The eligibility requirements for International/ Foreign students are the same as for the NRI/OCI category and general category candidates. Their suitability for admission to undergraduate programmes will be assessed by the committee consisting of the Dean of the college concerned (Chairman), the Chairman of Academic Affairs Committee and the Secretary of Board of Studies of the college concerned (members). For postgraduate programmes, the committee will consist of the Dean, Postgraduate Studies (Chairman), the Dean of the college concerned (member) and the Head of the concerned department (member).
• The International/ Foreign students seeking admission must have a valid student visa, declared medically fit after examination (as per Annexure F) by the Medical Officer authorized by the Indian Embassy in the home country of the student and they must have full medical insurance for entire period of study/stay in India.
• The International/Foreign students will be charged an Institutional Economic Fee @ US $ 2000 per year per student of SAARC country and US $ 4000 for a student from countries other than SAARC countries or as per specific provisions of the scholarship/fellowship and as amended from time to time by the sponsoring agency. The Institutional Economic Fee will be charged for the period prescribed for a particular programme.
• The Institutional Economic Fee may not be charged from the candidates admitted by the Govt. of India under certain fellowship/scholarship such as Nepal Aid Fund, Colombo Plan, Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Programme, General Cultural Scholarship and Cultural Technical Exchange as per specific provisions of the scholarship/fellowship, or as amended from time to time by the sponsoring agency.
• However, above candidates will have to deposit tuition fee, admission fee, hostel dues and other usual charges for the period they remain enrolled in the programme as applicable as per University rules or as per specific provisions of the scholarship/fellowship, or as amended from time to time by the sponsoring agency.
• All foreign students, who are recommended by the Govt. of India/ICAR/VCI but not financially sponsored will have to deposit admission fee, tuition fee, hostel dues and other usual charges as applicable for NRI/OCI category candidates as per University rule in US Dollars or equivalent Indian Rupee for the period they remain enrolled in the programme. Institutional economic fee will be charged as mentioned at Sr. No. v. above.
• Mode of payment of fee and other charges will be similar to NRI/OCI candidate category.
• The Nodal officer after completing all the formalities/ activities will submit the case to the committee concerned as per Sr. No. iii under intimation to the Registrar.

Note:

• The seats remaining vacant under reserved category(ies), if any, shall be offered to the candidates competing on open merit basis during the 3rd counselling. However, in case no candidate has applied under a particular reserved category, these seats during 1st and /or 2nd counselling will be offered to candidates competing on open merit basis.
• Candidates from other states fulfilling the eligibility criteria, who have already applied or apply for Special Counselling/Mop-up Round(s)/Walk-in-Interview, will be considered against remaining seats for admission under Self-Financed (COVS, Ludhiana)/ Category-II (COVS, Rampura Phul)/Management Quota/Special Management Quota (Khalsa College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences), only after considering the candidates from Punjab and UT Chandigarh.
• Fifteen seats of NRI of Khalsa College of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Sciences, will be converted to Special Management Quota, if no overseas candidate is available and will be filled as per provision envisaged at rule 7.2 (i) of the Prospectus.
• Candidates admitted in a counselling can participate in subsequent Counsellings (2nd and/or 3rd counselling(s)) only, if there is a financial benefit on account of fee structures with the same college. However, candidate(s) can be allowed to participate for change of college as per his/her choice irrespective of financial benefit.

a)State Quota/Category-I :“Demand Draft” amounting to Rs. 71,630 (excluding hostel fee for State Quota) and Rs 1.00 Lakh (Category-I) in favour of “Comptroller,GADVASU” payable at any scheduled bank in Ludhiana must be deposited immediately at the time of admission/counselling. Remaining balance, if any must be deposited within 3 working days.
Note: In case of unavoidable circumstances payment can be accepted through cash/credit/debit card.

b)Self-Financed Category/Category-II:“Demand Draft” Draft” amounting to minimum Rs. 2.00 Lakh in favour of “Comptroller, GADVASU” payable at any scheduled bank in Ludhiana and rest of the amount must be submitted within 3 working days.
Note: In case of unavoidable circumstances payment can be accepted through Cash/Debit/Credit Card (Cash upto Rs. 1,99,999/‐ only).

(i) All the bank charges/payment gateway charges will be borne by the candidate.

(ii)Cash payment of Rs. 2.00 lakh and above shall not be accepted under any circumstances.

(iii) University will not be held responsible in case where the remaining fee is not deposited/encashed/credited into university account during the stipulated period due to any reason. The seat of such a candidate will bedeclared vacant for further needful and the fee already deposited by such candidate will stand forfeited.

Mode of Fee Payment:

At the time of counseling every candidate must pay a minimum of Rs. 2.00 Lakh through card swipe and/or cash and remaining amount through NEFT or RTGS within 3 working days.

Note for KCVAS:

i. KCVAS will not be held responsible in case where the remaining fee is not deposited/ encashed/credited into college account during the stipulated period due to any reason. The seat of such a candidate will be declared vacant for further needful and the fee already deposited by such candidate will stand forfeited. However, college will be mandatorily liable to clear all the dues including university admission fee, applicable administrative charges etc. from the fee collected at time of counselling.
ii. The fee will be payable on a yearly/six monthly basis and the college shall not insist on the candidate to deposit the fee for the entire course in advance. At the most candidates can be asked to furnish a surety bond/ undertaking/ bank guarantee that they will be liable to pay the balance fee for the whole course even if they leave the degree program in-between.Therefore, the candidate who seeks migration to other institute will be liable to pay the balance tuition fee for the whole course.
iii. The college will charge the same fee from the students eligible for Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme admitted under SC/ST category (University Quota) as is being charged by the GADVASU.
iv. The fee for 4th professional B.V.Sc. & A.H. programme, which is comprised of 1½ years, will be collected in three: six monthly installments.
Note: No tution fee will be charged for the internship period from the 2024-25 batch.

Note for all:

• The University reserves the right to enhance the fee, charges,funds, etc. at any time. An Annual incremental increase of 10% in the fee structure shall be applicable to the constituent and affiliated colleges of the university, excluding tuition fee of Self- financed/Category-II seats of constituent colleges and Management/Special Management quota seats of affiliated private college.
• The fee of candidates admitted to College of Veterinary Science, Ludhiana, Rampura Phul Campus and KCVAS,Amritsar will be charged during the duration of course work only i.e., 4 1⁄2 years. Post course completion, candidates will be paid a monthly internship allowance on the rate as decided by the University/College (KCVAS).
• Khalsa College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Amritsar,will charge all other charges except the tuition fee during the internship period.

Note: Candidates availing of hostel accommodation will be charged the hostel Fee prescribed by the college.

a) Pay the entire “Admission & Tuition fee refer 2.3.7.1 within 24 hours of admission in US$ either as “Foreign Currency Demand Draft” favouring “Comptroller, GADVASU”, payable at any scheduled bank in Ludhiana or through Bank Transfer (Swift transfer) as per the details given below:

b) Pay entire amount of “Other fee and charges refer 2.3.7.2 within 24 hours of admission in Indian Rupees or as demand draft as per the details given below:

c) The fee can also be paid in equivalent Indian rupees in the form of bank draft issued from the NRE/OCI bank account of the candidate/parent/spouse maintained in India. In this case, the candidate is required to submit a certificate from the bank that the draft has been issued against the candidate/parent/spouse NRE/OCI bank account along with a currency equivalence certificate.

d) It must be ensured that the university receives the full designated amount as applicable for each purpose. Bank and Exchange charges, GST, etc., if any, will be borne by the remitter/applicant.

e) Give sufficient details about the student in the remittance form, e.g. Student name, Father’s name, mobile phone number, Admission number and Purpose (application/admission/tuition fee, etc.).

f) Application fee will not be refunded under any circumstances

g) Advance “Online Payment” made except application fee, if any, will be refunded to the remitter in case the candidate fails to get admission. The amount (INR) received in the university account will be refunded/ repatriated as per current exchange rate/amount received, whichever is less. Bank charges etc., if any, will be deducted from the refund.

h) In case, an admitted NRI student/candidate fails to register or pursue his/her studies, the entire admission/ tution fee and other charges already paid shall not be refundable.

 

Migration or Transfer of Student from other Colleges/Universities

• A student studying in a recognized/accredited veterinary college which is included in the First Schedule of the Act may only be allowed to migrate or be transferred to a recognized veterinary college of the university.
• The migration or transfer may be allowed after passing 1st year of Bachelor of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry degree course within one month of the start of academic session of 2nd year of the receiving College or University.(See academic calendar of 2nd year)
• The number of students migrating or transferring during the period of one academic year will be kept to the maximumlimit of 5% of the intake capacity of each of the recognized veterinary college (s) in one Academic year with NOC from Institute.

Note:

• The candidate applying for Migration from other institute/university to this university will have to pay non-refundable application processing fee for Rs. 25000/- in shape of Demand Draft favoring Comptroller, GADVASU, payable at Ludhiana. Applications received without application processing fee will not be entertained.
• The eligible candidates selected for migration to this University will have to deposit non- refundable Migration Fee of Rs 75000/- in the office of concerned Dean. The fee structure of Self-Financed/ Category-II/ Management Quota/Special Management Quota students will be applicable on Migrated Students.
