Master’s Programmes (Other than In-service Candidates)
The minimum eligibility qualification for admission to Master’s programmes of the university is OCPA/OGPA of 6.000/10.000 or 60% marks in aggregate in the Qualifying Bachelor degree (in respective discipline as shown in table under Sr. No. 6.2.2 in Prospectus 2024-25) from a recognized institute/college/university established by law in India.
Master’s Programme (In-service Candidates)
The minimum requirement for in-service candidates for admission to Master’s programmes in the constituent colleges of the university is OCPA/OGPA of 5.500/10.000 or 55% marks in aggregate in the Qualifying Bachelor degree (in respective discipline as shown in table under Sr. No. 6.2.2 in Prospectus 2024-25) from a recognized institute/college/university established by law in India. Candidate should be an employee of any Government/Semi-government department of Punjab/Union Territory of Chandigarh and have a minimum of two years professional experience (after completion of Bachelor’s degree) in these departments on the last date of receipt of application.
Note:- The in-service candidate will be considered for admission only if his/her application is duly forwarded through proper channel by the Head/sanctioning authority after certifying that during the study period salary will be paid as per rules and lien will be retained, and on completion of studies the candidate will join back on the said post.

- Students may have to clear deficiency courses as suggested by the student’s advisory committee.
Eligibility Criteria for International/Foreign Students
- The International/Foreign students may be considered for admission (in absentia) in Master degree programmes without appearing in the Entrance Test against additional seats. These seats will be in addition to NRI/OCI category seats.
- Their admission may be regulated by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)/ Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR), Veterinary Council of India (VCI)/ Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India, New Delhi.
- The eligibility requirements for International/ Foreign students are the same as for the NRI/OCI category and general category candidates. Their suitability for admission to undergraduate programmes will be assessed by the committee consisting of the Dean of the college concerned (Chairman), the Chairman of Academic Affairs Committee and the Secretary of Board of Studies of the college concerned (members). For postgraduate programmes, the committee will consist of the Dean, Postgraduate Studies (Chairman), the Dean of the college concerned (member) and the Head of the concerned department (member).
- The International/ Foreign students seeking admission must have a valid student visa, declared medically fit after examination (as per Annexure F in Prospectus 2024-25) by the Medical Officer authorized by the Indian Embassy in the home country of the student and they must have full medical insurance for entire period of study/stay in India.
- The International/Foreign students will be charged an Institutional Economic Fee @ US $ 2000 per year per student of SAARC country and US $ 4000 for a student from countries other than SAARC countries or as perspecific provisions of the scholarship/fellowship and as amended from time to time by the sponsoring agency. The Institutional Economic Fee will be charged for the period prescribed for a particular programme.
- The Institutional Economic Fee may not be charged from the candidates admitted by the Govt. of India under certain fellowship/scholarship such as Nepal Aid Fund, Colombo Plan, Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Programme, General Cultural Scholarship and Cultural Technical Exchange as per specific provisions of the scholarship/fellowship, or as amended from time to time by the sponsoring agency.
- However, above candidates will have to deposit tuition fee, admission fee, hostel dues and other usual charges for the period they remain enrolled in the programme as applicable as per University rules or as per specific provisions of the scholarship/fellowship, or as amended from time to time by the sponsoring agency.
- All foreign students, who are recommended by the Govt. of India/ICAR/VCI but not financially sponsored will have to deposit admission fee, tuition fee, hostel dues and other usual charges as applicable for NRI/OCI category candidates as per University rule in US Dollars or equivalent Indian Rupee for the period they remain enrolled in the programme. Institutional economic fee will be charged as mentioned at Sr. No. v. above.
- Mode of payment of fee and other charges will be similar to NRI/OCI candidate category.
- The Nodal officer after completing all the formalities/ activities will submit the case to the committee concerned as per Sr. No. iii under intimation to the Registrar.

Fee Details for Registration of Extra Semester for Thesis/Dissertation Submission Only
Master student who has completed his/ her degree requirements other than thesis/dissertation submission, and wishes to register for an extra semester only for thesis/dissertation submission, he/she can do so without paying the Tuition fee, Examination fee and Student Aid & Red Cross Fund; while only 50% of Library Fee, Amalgamated Fund and College Development & Student Fund will be charged. Other requisite fee and charges, however, will have to be paid by the student subject to the followings:
- The student must submit the rough draft of the thesis/ dissertation to the office of Dean Postgraduate studies by the last date of dropping a course.
- Further, the final thesis/dissertation must be submitted within 30 days in case of Master’s programme after the submission of rough draft of thesis/dissertation.
- Dean Postgraduate Studies may grant permission for extending the time period for submission of final thesis/dissertation, in case a student of Master’s programme fails to submit the final thesis/ dissertation within 30 days, after submission of rough draft of thesis/dissertation (within the same semester, otherwise student has to register for next smester), with the late fee for extended period as per following norms.

Demand Draft of the entire fee amount (excluding hostel fee) in favour of “Comptroller GADVASU” payable at any scheduled bank in Ludhiana must be deposited immediately at the time of admission/ counselling.
Note: In case of unavoidable circumstances payment can be accepted through cash/credit/debit card/online transfer as per bank details given in the table below.

Self-Financed Category: Demand Draft of the entire fee amount or a minimum Rs.2.00 Lakh in favour of “Comptroller GADVASU” payable at any scheduled bank in Ludhiana must be deposited immediately at the time of admission/ counselling.
The rest of the amount must be deposited immediately through online/debit card/credit card/cash payment (asper the bank details in the table below) OR within two working days.

Note:
- Other fee and charges (as applicable) will have to be paid as per Fee Structure and shall be charged in Indian Rupees.
- Bank collection charges will be charged extra, if the bank draft is not payable at any branch of a scheduled bank in Ludhiana.
- The selected candidates must deposit their fee immediately after counselling/interview failing which the seat will be offered to the next eligible candidate on the basis of merit.
- NRI/OCI candidates who have passed their qualifying degree examination from a recognized Indian board/university will have to pay ‘verification of certificates’ charges.

Payment of Other Fee & Charges:

- The Admission & Tuition fee can also be paid in equivalent Indian rupees in the form of bank draft issued from the NRE/OCI bank account of the candidate/parent/spouse maintained in India. In this case, the candidate is required to submit a certificate from the bank that the draft has been issued against the candidate/parent/spouse NRE/OCI bank account along with a currency equivalence certificate.
- It must be ensured that the university receives the full designated amount as applicable for each purpose. Bank and Exchange charges, GST, etc., if any, will be borne by the remitter/applicant.
- Give sufficient details about the student in the remittance form, e.g. Student name, Father’s name, Mobile phone number, Admission number and Purpose (application/admission/tuition fee, etc.).
- Application fee will not be refunded under any circumstances.
- Advance “Online Payment” made except application fee, if any, will be refunded to the remitter in case the candidate fails to get admission. The amount (INR) received in the university account will be refunded/ repatriated as per current exchange rate/amount received, whichever is less. Bank charges etc., if any, will be deducted from the refund.
- In case, an admitted NRI student/candidate fails to register or pursue his/her studies, the fees and other charges already paid shall not be refundable.
Migration or Transfer of Student from other Colleges/Universities
- A student studying in a recognized/accredited veterinary college which is included in the First Schedule of the Act may only be allowed to migrate or be transferred to a recognized veterinary college of the university.
- The migration or transfer may be allowed after passing 1st year of Bachelor of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry degree course within one month of the start of academic session of 2nd year of the receiving College or University.(See academic calendar of 2nd year)
- The number of students migrating or transferring during the period of one academic year will be kept to the maximumlimit of 5% of the intake capacity of each of the recognized veterinary college (s) in one Academic year with NOC from Institute.
Note:
- The candidate applying for Migration from other institute/university to this university will have to pay non-refundable application processing fee for Rs. 25000/- in shape of Demand Draft favoring Comptroller, GADVASU, payable at Ludhiana. Applications received without application processing fee will not be entertained.
- The eligible candidates selected for migration to this University will have to deposit nonrefundable Migration Fee of Rs 75000/- in the office of concerned Dean. The fee structure of Self-Financed/ Category-II/ Management Quota/Special Management Quota students will be applicable on Migrated Students.
