Animal Genetics and Breeding

  • The department of Animal Genetics & Breeding imparts under graduate teaching for B.V.Sc.& AH programme. The department has excellent laboratory facilities and adequate  infrastructure as per VCI norms. The department is engaged in the teaching of various courses in the areas of Animal Genetics, Animal Breeding, Biostatistics and Computer Applications. Bearing in mind the needs of veterinary graduates, the department is equipped with computer laboratory with computers of latest configuration, where the students are trained to be proficient in the use of computers for statistical analysis, data storage and retrieval, access and understanding of national and international databases as well as the use of internet for constant updating of knowledge and research activities related to veterinary and animal sciences.
