Livestock Production Management
The department caters to the teaching requirements at undergraduate level to the students of Veterinary College, Rampura Phul. The department has well equipped laboratories and Livestock Farm Complex (LFC) to carry out the undergraduate teaching programs effectively. At present, LFC comprises of cattle and buffalo unit, goat unit, pig unit and poultry unit.

Brief Introduction :
Dr. Amit Sharma completed his BVSc & AH from COVS & AH, Mathura campus, CSAU A& T, Kanpur (UP) in 2003, MVSc (LPM) from COVS, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana in 2006 and PhD (LPM) from ICAR- National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, Haryana in 2010.
He received National Eligibility Scholarship during intermediate from 1994-95, University Merit Scholarship during MVSc and ICAR institutional fellowship during PhD.
He has presented several research and lead papers in national and international conference received 6 best oral/poster presentation award.
He has served as Assistant Professor in the Department of LPMCOVS & AH, R.K.Nagar, Agartala, Tripura from 30.09.2009 to 18.11.2011 and Department of LPM, COVS, GADVASU, Ludhiana from 21.11.2011 to 20.10.2020. Subsequently as Associate Professor in the Department of LPM, COVS, Rampura Phul ,Bathinda from 21.10.2020 onward.
He taught more than 40 under graduate and 22 post graduate courses, developed 1 undergraduate course, 10 practical teaching manuals and successfully guided 4 MVSc students and have been member of advisory committee of 12 MVSc and 2 PhD students.
As Principal Investigators he has coordinated 3 RKVY and 1 extramural research project as and as Co-Investigator 3 external funded research project.
He has authored 40 research articles, 3 books, 7 book chapters and many other technical papers in conference and magzgine.
In extension he has Coordinated 3 extension training programs, delivered more than 150 extensions training lectures, 5 TV and 6 radio talks.
