Veterinary Parasitology
The Department of Veterinary Parasitology at College of Veterinary Science, Rampura Phul was established in 2021. The mandate of the Department comprises of teaching, research and extension activities in the field of Veterinary Parasitology. The Department is associated with teaching of Veterinary Parasitology to B.V.Sc. & A.H. and Diploma students. Alongside, the Department is providing clinical services for diagnosis of parasitic infections.

- Epidemiology of parasites of diary and companion animals and poultry especially in the Malwa region of Punjab.
- CATT test has been used for diagnosis of trypanosomiasis as a part of project.
- Herbal alternatives are being explored as an alternative to acaricides against poultry soft tick- Argas persicus.
Veterinary Parasitology
- Interaction with farmers in kisan melas, clinical camps and other programmes and to generate awareness amongst the livestock owners against parasitic diseases and their control.
- Publication of bulletins, circulars and popular articles in different magazines, newspapers etc. for general awareness of public against parasitic diseases.
- Participation in clinical camps.
- Training of field veterinarians.
- Radio talks regarding parasitic diseases of livestock and their control.

Veterinary Parasitology
- The Department has all the basic facilities for teaching of Veterinary Parasitology. The Department of Veterinary Parasitology is having a well established and functional laboratory for Under graduate teaching to BVSc and AH and DVSc and AHT students.
- The Department has high quality microscopes, trinocular microscopes, stereoscopes, steriozooms, BOD incubator and other instruments required for routine diagnosis for parasitic samples from clinical cases.
- Department is actively involved in diagnosis of parasitic diseases. Facilities for doing the same are available at the department.
- The undergraduate laboratory-cum-Museum has an extensive collection of parasitic specimens.
Veterinary Parasitology
- Dr Vikrant Sudan has been selected as National Academy of Agricultural Sciences - NAAS Associate 2025 and is also been bestowed with the membership of National Academy of Veterinary Sciences, India.
- Dr Vikrant Sudan is the executive member of Indian Association for the Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology (IAAVP).
- Dr Vikrant Sudan is the Editorial board member and/ or associate Editor of many journals of international repute like Scientific Reports, BMC Veterinary Research; Frontiers in Veterinary Science, Plos One, Veterinary Parasitology: Parasites and wild life and AS Veterinary Science Journal.
- Dr Deepak Sumbria has international exposure in the form of Post Doc from USA.
