Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry
- The Department of Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry was set up in 2019 along with the establishment of College of Veterinary Science in Rampura Phul, Bathinda. This department mainly focuses on teaching, research and extension activities in the disciplines of Veterinary Physiology and Veterinary Biochemistry. Currently, this department offers various courses of Veterinary Physiology and Veterinary Biochemistry for B. V. Sc. and AH degree programme. The department has well established laboratories for carrying out Undergraduate teaching in Veterinary Physiological and Biochemistry. This department also extends its laboratory facilities and diagnostic services to other departments of the college, farmers and veterinarians.

Brief Introduction :
Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Associate Professor took over the charge of Department of Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry, College of Veterinary Science, Rampura Phul in October, 2020. He joined as Assistant Professor in 2011. He is actively involved in teaching, research, extension, administration and infrastructural development activities. Dr. Singh’s research program is on Ruminant Digestive Physiology. He has guided 02 MVSc/MSc students. He has published 21 research articles in various national and international level research journals. He is a life member of various professional societies and referee of National/International journals.

Area of research
- Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and the generation of these cells, their maintenance, and transformation into functional cardiomyocytes and neurons represent a dynamic field. This evolving area holds promise for transformative applications in healthcare, positioning iPSCs and stem cell technology as pivotal forces in advancing medical interventions.
