About the Directorate

The Human Resource Management Centre (HRMC) at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University came into existence in the year 2021 after the approval of the recommendations of the academic council made in the 61st meeting during the 49th meeting of the Board of Management of the University held on 19.02.2021. This Centre is functioning under the administrative control of the Registrar. The main motive of setting up of HRMC is to process with accelerated emphasis on harnessing of various activities with greater zeal embarking upon both Managerial and Operational activities.

Vision

  • To assist the University Administration for continuous growth and development of human resources of the University by identifying the strengths and gaps and providing an objective mechanism for monitoring.
  • To identify the training needs of various categories of employees under emerging scenario of enhanced automation and organize short and medium-term training and development programmes.
  • To provide and generate employment opportunities for students in consultation with In-charge, Placement Cell of the University.
  • To evolve measures to address the need of encouragement, motivation, appreciation, etc. of human resources.
  • To formulate uniform qualifications and score card in consultation with concerned Deans/Directors. 
  • Promote a culture of trust, tolerance, knowledge sharing and team work.
  • Develop a professional environment on the principles of fairness, equality and mutual trust.
  • Promote climate change in offices.

Mandate/ Activities

  • In this context, it is highly imperative that suitable impetus on HRM training programmes for fine tuning the scientific and technological skills of the faculty and technical staff get due accent by having the right person in right place so that there are minimum square pegs at round holes.
  • Adequate Hands-on Training for efficient job performance and chiselling their abilities for better capacity building for present and future generation(s)
    • Proper coordination for the team to work as well-oiled Unit
  • To facilitate good working ambience and climate change in offices as per Gender requirements
  • Promotion of adoption of innovative and best practices by employees in office work.
  • Encouragement of adoption of automation in official work for better efficacy and accuracy in official work.
  • Job Placements of students of the university through campus and off-campus selection processes, in consultation with Placement Officer.
  • Internship/Student Ready Programmes and/or any other such training of students at various industries and research institutes and Industry Interaction Programme.
  • Personality development/Soft-skills/ Performance Effectiveness Programme(s) for students and staff.
  • Preparatory Programmes for competitive examinations and other educational options.
  • Guidance in Entrepreneurship Development/ Career Counselling.
  • Any other activity aimed at empowerment of human resources of the University.
  • For fostering continuing education in the areas of their specialization
  • Supporting health and wellness of employees through better redressal of their problems.
  • Organization of training programmes/orientation programmes/workshops/ seminars for continuous professional development of employees.
  • To create a repository of all State agencies/ Central Govt. promotional schemes to facilitate the stakeholders in the livestock sector.

Brief Introduction

Professor Lachhman Das Singla, during his academic period of more than 32 years has made outstanding contributions in research, education & extension activities on tropical parasitic diseases by way of their improved diagnosis and control with the ultimate aim to enhance the socio-economic status of the farmers. His contributions to animal research are reflected not only by his reputed published work with noteworthy number of citations (4423), h-index (38), i10-index (116) and active participation in a significant number of international scientific events abroad but also by guidance to national and international scholars and editorial work as Chief Editor, Associate chief editor, Academic editor and editorial board member of journals of international repute which has given him a seasoned worldwide view on the intrinsic way of conducting Research. For his excellent academic services, he has been conferred with numerous prestigious honors and awards including the Prof. Dr. B.V. Rao Gold Medal by the Indian Veterinary Association, Dr D.P. Banerjee Memorial Oration Award and Smt. Nisha Mani Parija Oration Award in Veterinary Protozoology and Parasitic Zoonosis; Dr. B.L. Purohit Memorial Oration Award 2018 for his meritorious services, outstanding performance and remarkable role in education and research. Bagged international funding on competitive basis from various national and international agencies (Commonwealth Science Council, London; Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation; Ministry of Foreign Affairs, France; Higher Education Commission, Pakistan WAAVP, DST, NAAS and ICAR) for attending advanced training and scientific meetings at Australia, Canada, China, Denmark, Dubai, England, France, Italy, Malaysia, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Scotland, Thailand, United States of America and Vietnam for participate in international events. Dr Singla is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, London; National Academy of Veterinary Sciences; Indian Association for the Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology. He is the founder and director of the Human Resource Management Centre
